Delete your data
Almost everything Reverse Song stores lives on your phone, so you can delete it yourself in under a minute. This page explains where each kind of data lives and how to remove it.
1. What is stored, and where
| Data | Where it lives | How to delete it |
|---|---|---|
| Recordings and exported files in the app | On your phone only (not in cloud backups) | Delete clips in the Library, clear app data, or uninstall |
| Clip names, scores, streak, settings | On your phone only | Clear app data, or uninstall |
| Videos or audio you saved to your phone or shared | Your phone's Music or Movies folder, or wherever you sent them | Delete them there; we have no copy |
| Usage statistics and crash reports | Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics) | Turn off "Share usage and crash reports" in Settings; sent data expires automatically |
| Advertising ID and ad data | Your phone and Google | Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → reset or delete advertising ID |
| Ad-consent choice | On your phone | Change it in Settings → Ad preferences, or clear app data |
| Subscription and payment records | Google Play (we never receive payment details) | Managed through your Google account |
2. Delete it yourself
- Delete a clip: open Reverse Song → Library → the clip's menu → Delete.
- Clear all app data: Android Settings → Apps → Reverse Song → Storage → Clear data. This removes every recording, score, setting and your consent choice.
- Uninstall the app: removes everything the app stored on your phone.
- Stop usage and crash reports: Reverse Song → Settings → turn off "Share usage and crash reports". Crash reports not yet sent are deleted too.
- Reset your advertising ID: Android Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete or reset advertising ID.
This cannot be undone. Recordings are not backed up anywhere, so once deleted they are gone for good. Save any you want to keep with Share → Save to phone first.
3. Usage and crash data already sent
Usage statistics and crash reports are not linked to your name, email or account, because there is no account. That also means we can't look up one person's records. Analytics events expire after 2 months at the user and event level, and crash reports after 90 days. Some aggregated statistics remain, but they cannot be traced back to you.
Deleting your data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel that in the Google Play Store.
